Star Wars: The Old Republic Having More Than 2 Million Households, 1.7 Million Active Daily

It looks like Star Wars: The recent Republic is off to a good begin, with EA these days touting sales topping two million copies since launch, 1.7 million of that are reported as “active daily users.” Consistent with CEO John Riccitiello, those sales helped to bolster the company’s third quarter financials for fiscal 2012 higher than those of the previous year, alongside major launches like Battlefield three and FIFA twelve serving to to select up the slack.

“Star Wars: The recent Republic is developing a committed community of players,” Riccitiello boasted during a press release these days, ahead of EA’s monetary earnings call where we’ll likely learn additional.Unfortunately, we can’t snicker within the faces of any analysts on this one because they kinda sat on each side of the fence before the game’s launch this past winter. So, uh, congrats folks, you were sorta right … we guess.

Update: EA’s chief finances man Eric Brown acknowledged throughout the call that “over forty percent” of Star Wars: The recent Republic’s sales were through Origin, that services like NPD are not ready to track.
